Highly corrosive to skin; [Quick CPC] Inhalation exposures of 35 ppm can cause irritation of the throat, and higher exposures can cause laryngeal edema and pulmonary edema. [HSDB] When spilled in water, Acetyl iodide can release Hydrogen iodide.
