"A nationwide study of the occurrence of disinfection by-products in different geographical regions of the USA was conducted between October 2000 and April 2002 (Weinberg et al., 2002), in which samples were taken from 12 water-treatment plants that had different levels of source water quality and bromide and used the major disinfectants (chlorine, chloramines, ozone and chlorine dioxide).
