Ketone present in peppermint oil; [Hawley] Used in perfumes and flavorings; [HSDB] Peppermint oil contains menthol, menthone, and more than 30 other chemicals. It is widely used as a flavoring agent and herbal remedy. [Haddad, p. 1439]
