TLV Basis: Liver injury; effects on thyroid and central nervous system; cancer of thymus and uterus in animals; "Cancer outcomes from long-term feeding studies in rodents resulted in increased incidence of thyroid, uterine and ovarian tumors, with a NOAEL of 2.5 mg/kg body weight per day." One death from intentional ingestion of undiluted liquid--100 ml (21.7%); Patient had seizures within 2 hours and cardiac arrest within 36 hours. [ACGIH]
