Comments

Thiourea (thiocarbamide) has been used as a fixative in photography and photocopying. It has also been used as a rubber and neoprene antioxidant. Photocontact dermatitis caused by thiourea has been observed in users of shoe insoles, adhesive tape, wet suits, and neoprene weather strips. Alkylated thioureas include diethylthiourea (DTU), Diphenylthiourea (DPTU), Ethylenethiourea (ETU), Dimethylthiourea (DMTU), and ethylbutylthiourea (EBTU).
