Established risks include medical hazards (antineoplastic drug dispensing, anesthetic gases, nitrous oxides used by dental assistants, and ethylene oxide), lead, ethylene glycol ethers in the semiconductor industry, ingestion of PCBs in food, heavy labor, and shift work.
