Comments
Chloramide vapor may be formed from the mixing of hypochlorite bleach and ammonia in household products. It is a skin and respiratory irritant, but there are no reports of serious sequelae following human inhalation exposures. Chloramide at high concentrations can cause pulmonary edema in animal experiments. Methemoglobinemia due to chloramines in the dialysate was reported in dialysis patients. [HSDB]
