Sources/Uses
Bithionol is one of the biocides commonly used in metalworking fluids. [Occupational Exposure to Metalworking Fluids. DHHS (NIOSH) Publication No. 98-102, 1998, Table 4-1] As an antimicrobial agent, it is active against bacteria and fungi. [Merck Index, #1306] It is used in agricultural fungicides and industrial cleansers. [Marks, p. 228]
