Causes local irritation and lachrymation; Skin contact results in erythema and burning without blistering; Intense tearing, pain, conjunctivitis, and blepharospasm may occur from eye contact; [HSDB] It is unlikely that pesticide products containing capsaicin will pose a significant threat to human health. Excessive exposure to capsaicin may cause some slight eye and skin irritation. [Reference #1]
