Skin irritation observed in 149 of 205 volunteers; No skin sensitization observed using diluted test substance; Causes mild skin and eye irritation in rabbits (classified by the EC as not irritating); Significantly reduced litter sizes, pup viability index at birth, and mean pup weight observed in the F1 and F2 generations of 2-generation oral study of rats; Teratogenic effects observed in rats at doses maternally toxic; [IUCLID] A mild eye and severe skin irritant; Causes somnolence, jaundice, and hemorrhage in dermal lethal-dose studies of rabbits; [RTECS] "Linear alkylbenzenes are not acutely toxic."
