Alkyl sulfates are primarily used as wool-washing agents and as active ingredients in laundry detergents; Also used in various personal care products (i.e. toothpastes, shampoos, and cosmetics), in some foods, for froth flotation in pharmaceuticals, pigment dispersion, in a range of cleaning products, fire fighting foams, emulsifiers for insecticides, and for making printing inks; [OECD SIDS] Permitted for use as an inert ingredient in non-food pesticide products; [EPA]
