Comments
A mild eye irritant in rabbits; Not a skin sensitizer in guinea pigs using the Magnusson and Kligman method; Exposure to saturated vapor concentration (estimated at 2,410 mg/m3) for 7 hours resulted in eye and nasal irritation, transient weight loss, and mortality in 1 of 12 rats exposed; Survivors recovered fully in 24 hours; Increased liver weights without corresponding histopathology and minimal to minor hyaline droplet formation in the proximal tubular cells in kidneys of males observed in 4-week oral study of rats at 1,000 mg/kg/day; Increased liver and kidney (males) weights with histopathological changes observed in 13-week oral study of rats at 250 and 1,000 mg/kg/day; No effects noted in the functional observation batteries or on hematological parameters; A 1-generation study of rats produced NOAELs for parents and reproductive toxicity of the highest tested dose (1,000 mg/kg/day); Single oral doses of 4.7 mg/kg caused symptoms consistent with CNS depression in rats; [ECETOC]
