Corrosive to skin; [Quick CPC] Liquid causes first degree burns on short exposure; [CHRIS] DETA can cause severe corneal injuries and sensitization of the skin and respiratory tract. [ACGIH] Allergic contact dermatitis reported in workers using ultrasonic baths, synthetic lubricants, and carbonless copy paper. [Kanerva, p. 1782] Repeated or prolonged contact may cause skin sensitization or asthma. Inhalation may cause pulmonary edema. [ICSC] Prolonged inhalation can cause asthma.
