Ingestion of 1 mg/kg of the free acid by 8 humans caused no notable adverse effects; A skin, eye, and mucous membrane irritant; In high dose chronic animal studies, the only adverse effects observed were increase in relative kidney weights and histopathological changes in the liver; [HSDB] A skin, eye, nose, and throat irritant; May cause corneal injury and damage to liver and kidneys; [CAMEO] A skin irritant; [EPA OHM/TADS] Chlorophenoxy herbicides are possible human carcinogens; [IARC] See "2,4,5T."
