Emergency treatment: Methemoglobinemia; [HSDB] Cyanosis observed in oral lethal-dose study of rats; No significant pathological changes observed; Effects in lethal-concentration inhalation study with rats include bronchial pneumonia, hemorrhage and edema of the lungs, congestion and focal necrosis of the liver, and cloudy swelling in the kidneys; No adverse changes in blood or clinical chemistries, or gross or histopathological examinations observed in 90-day inhalation study of rats; Histopathological changes of liver in other high-dose studies with rats and dogs; Teratogenic effects (decrease in fetal weight and retarded ossification) observed in gavage study with rats at doses maternally toxic; Irritating to rabbit eyes, but not to skin; Not sensitizing or irritating to guinea pig skin; [EPA HPVIS]
