Potassium salt: Oral LD50 (rat) = 7,430 mg/kg; Not irritating to rabbit skin but irritating to rabbit eyes; 90-day feeding study of rats produced minor effects at highest tested dose of 10%, but no serum enzyme, gross pathological, or histological changes; No adverse effects observed in two year feeding study of dogs (doses up to 3% corresponding to 900 mg/kg/day); No evidence of reproductive, developmental, or teratogenic toxicity in rats; Emergency treatment: "Non-toxic ingestion"; [HSDB]
