Category
Carbamate Insecticides
Description
Colorless solid; mp = 33.4 deg C; [HSDB] Yellow solid; mp = 31-33 deg C; [MSDSonline]
Sources/Uses
Formerly used as an insecticide for control of aphids on fruit crops, ornamentals, and vegetables; [HSDB]
Comments
High doses promoted rat liver carcinogenesis; [HSDB] Marked increase in alkaline phosphatase and histopathological changes to liver were observed in 104 week feeding study of dogs at 3000 ppm; In a two year feeding study with rats an increase in relative liver weights was observed at 1000 and 3000 ppm, but no evidence for carcinogenicity; No evidence of delayed neurotoxicity in hens; Not considered teratogenic based on studies with rats and rabbits; A dominant lethal test showed no mutagenicity; [Reference #1] See "CARBAMATE INSECTICIDES."
Restricted
Not currently registered as a pesticide for use in the US; [HSDB]
