Comments
A vitamin K antagonist--causes clotting factor disruption and bleeding tendency; More embryotoxic than teratogenic in studies with rats and chickens; Non-lethal oral doses caused decrease in ovarian weight and transient infertility in female rats; [HSDB] Can be absorbed through skin; May cause problems with blood clotting, with symptoms appearing days after exposure; [ICSC] Second generation anticoagulant rodenticide; Rapidly absorbed by blood following single oral dose (maximum plasma concentration in four hours); Highest tissue accumulation in the liver (mostly unchanged parent compound); No pathological changes observed in rats fed non-lethal doses; Not irritating to skin or eyes of rabbits; Not sensitizing to guinea pig skin; No evidence of mutagenicity in any studies (i.e. reverse gene mutation, chromosomal aberrations); [INCHEM] See "Warfarin."
