Very toxic cholinesterase inhibitor; May be restrictions on use; [Hawley] Has caused delayed neuropathy in humans; Depressed cholinesterase activity in animal studies by ingestion and inhalation; No gross or histopathological changes observed in two year feeding study with dogs; No evidence of reproductive or teratogenic effects in study with rats; [HSDB] Effects in dermal exposure study with rats include reduced growth rate and food consumption, inhibition of cholinesterase activity, and hematological changes (females); No adverse histopathological changes observed; No evidence of teratogenicity or delayed neurotoxicity in animal studies; [Reference #1] A severe skin irritant; [MSDSonline] “The average of two baseline respective cholinesterase activity determinations three days apart, with no exposures to enzyme inhibiting pesticides for at least 30 days, is recommended for each worker prior to exposure to cholinesterase inhibitors because of large inter-individual differences in published baseline values.
