Used to manufacture drugs, lacquers, and plastics; also used as a dietary supplement, waterproofing agent, heat and light stabilizer, and lubricant; [HSDB] Stearates are salts of octadecanoic acid. Zinc stearate is used in cosmetic powders for its adhesive properties. [ACGIH]
