Emergency treatment: "Plants- taxus"; In 7269 poisoning cases, 92.5% of patients had no adverse effects. Estimated lethal dose is 50-100 grams of the needles. One chewed berry may be lethal for a child. [HSDB] Symptoms of fatal poisoning include GI irritation and cardiac and respiratory failure; [Merck Index] Causes AV block, wide QRS, and hypotension; [Olson, p. 392]
