Acute presentation: flu-like illness with cough;
Subacute: recurrent "pneumonia";
Chronic: exertional dyspnea, productive cough, and weight loss;
The exposure is to contaminated hot tub mist, and the suspected antigen is Mycobacterium avium complex. [Murray, p. 1784] Nontuberculous mycobacteria were detected in 72% of air or water samples from 18 public hot tubs and warm water therapy pools. [
