Occupational asthma has been reported in workers exposed to metalworking fluids containing ethanolamine, diethanolamine, and triethanolamine. Exposures occur when workers inhale aerosols generated in machine finishing, machine tooling, and other metal-working and metal-forming processes including operations that use die cast lubes, forging compounds, rolling oils, drawing lubricants, quenching fluids, martempering oil, carbizer, honing oil, tapping compounds, etc. http://www.cdc.gov/niosh/metalw.html
