Occupational asthma (OA) in a food preparation worker, adding metabisulfite powder to potatoes; Also in a worker dipping lobster into a sodium bisulfite solution on board a fishing vessel; [Malo] OA from sulfites has also been reported in the wine, apricot processing, and laundry industries. [PMID 15377776] Metabisulfite is used as a preservative (powder and solution) in the food and beverage industries. [PMID 7597678]
