Sources/Uses

Allergic contact dermatitis in dental workers; [Marks] The reaction product of bisphenol A and glycidyl methacrylate that is polymerized by UV light or a catalyst; Used as bond implant material and as the resin component of dental sealants and composite restorative materials; [ChemIDplus] "Dental composite resins, UV-curable printing inks, and some glues contain epoxy acrylates such as bis-GMA and bis-GA." [Kanerva, p. 543] Bis-GMA was first developed in the 1960s as the first epoxy methacrylate for dental composite resins. [Kanerva, p. 546]
